Luther House is an apartment complex for senior citizens 62 years of age and older. It is operated under the guidelines established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Section 202 Program.
Eligibility is based on income and rent may be subsidized by HUD depending on individual circumstances.
Luther House is designed with seniors in mind. All residences are one-bedroom and are accessible without the need to climb stairs. Although there are no nursing services on-site, each apartment has a "call for aid" emergency system which sounds an alarm at the main desk that is staffed 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Luther House is not a licensed assisted-living facility or nursing home; however, residents are able to age in-place with the help of family members or hired aides.
Many of the residents are working or volunteering in the community and there is ample parking for everyone. Residents also participate in a number of activities scheduled by the Resident Councils, the service coordinator, or various community groups. Garden plots are available for those who enjoy that activity and small pets are welcome.
Because we care about the safety and security of the residents, a criminal background check is required for all residents. Luther House does business in accordance with the Federal Fair Housing Law and does not discriminate against any person because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, handicap, familial status, or national origin.
If you think Luther House is for you, the first step is to fill out an application.
